Meet our interns

Daniele E. Cohen

Daniele E. Cohen

An architect by training and a humanitarian by nature, Daniele sees architecture as the perfect medium to explore and bring to life deeper questions of how we might support the health of humanity– and in turn, the health of our planet as a whole. He is also an aspiring farmer and a shameless adventure junkie.

As a student in the US, Daniele always looked for ways to make a positive impact in his community immediately. Inspired by LEAP’s work, he came to Sabah in the spring of 2010 hoping to continue doing just that. The rest is history.

Ben Gutierrez

Ben Gutierrez

Ben Gutierrez is a recent graduate from Harvard University, where he majored in Environmental Science and Public Policy. He spent five weeks in Sabah/Sarawak in 2008 as part of a Harvard summer school biology course, and he has wanted to contribute to environmental conservation/social justice efforts in Sabah ever since. Ben has previously interned for EarthRights International, a human rights organization focusing on multinational oil corporations, and for Carbon Offsets to Alleviate Poverty (COTAP), a nonprofit startup linking individuals in developed countries with reforestation projects in developing countries. His interests include capoeira, enjoying the outdoors, drawing, and reading good books.

Both our interns are assisting LEAP on a voluntarily basis.
